and im sure everyone else who applied at the end of october/month of november is feeling the same way as well!!
I would love love loveeee to be able to contact CIC but apparently thats not possible from the United States? I was directed to a post that explains how to call CIC from the states.... with this number "1 613 944 4000" ... so i call that number and start hearing the automated message talking about Canadian immigration, but then when it tells me to press 2 for citizenship and immigration.... it tells me that they are transferring my call, it rings once... and then tells me that the number i am trying to reach is not available from my calling area : (

I live in Connecticut, close to New York.... does anyone know if there is any way for me to contact CIC from here if need be? Its just tough because i have every monday off and my husband works all week, then by the time he gets home CIC is closed so he cannot call. and here i am sitting here all day every monday having every opportunity to call them but i cant! lol ... its too bad they dont take calls on the weekends.... and also, does anyone know WHY the 1888 242 2100 number cant be reached from the US?

May be you can try emailing them (if you are the sponsor). I once emailed them and they replied within two days.

Here's another idea, copied from another poster here on these forums 'You can not call CIC from outside Canada. Get your friend to start a 3 way calling so that it's your friend in Canada who is calling you and CIC and connecting you together." Do you know someone in Canada that could make the call and link you in? (LOL there are some creative thinkers here on this forum!)

I believe Skype can terminate with a Canadian number. Just a thought. (don't purchase a number, just call with the pay as you go). I've been able to call numbers otherwise inaccessible with this method from Asia.

She is waiting for sponsorship approval, and since she is not the sponsor (read another of her posts she said she left her husband in Canada) the only one that will be able to call and get any answers would be him. Tho at this stage all they will most likely say is "Working on applications received on October 31, 2012".(from CIC website as of today) Once it is transferred to Ottawa there will be no # to call either you will only be able to e-mail and they won't even start responding until you file is opened.

thanks guys, i saw that same idea IslandAnnie, with the 3 way call. i guess i could have his sister maybe try that with me some time this week (im not going to start calling until its passed the date that my application was recieved on the processing times) ... but as you said creampop, i'm probably just going to get the same answer as the one thats on the CIC website... theyre probably just going to tell me its being worked on. lol oh how i wish i had more patience than this.
