Hi guys, my 22 year old cousin recieved a 10 year multiple entry visa a few days ago. We were extremely happy. If anyone would like to know how we applied, I would be happy to share with you. :D

i hope someone with experience can answer these questions for us:

- if she tells the officer she wanted to stay for 1 month but she gets approved for let's say 6 months - by staying longer than the length she stated, would she create a negative effect on the way the officer makes a decision for her future visits?

- After staying in Canada, long does she need to be outside Canada for in order to return with no problem?

- let's say she was approved to stay 6 months. can she return to China for a few days and come back within that period without any problems?

No.

At least the same amount of time she stayed in Canada.

There is no law preventing someone doing that... regardless if she starts behaving like she is living in Canada instead of just visiting then each re-entry will be harder and the visits can be from limited to refused.

Canada doesn't like people abusing the law.

Too many people seem to think as they have a multiple entry visa it gives them the absolute right to enter Canada unhindered when all it really means is that a risk assessment has been completed for an individual and a visa issued in line with any reciprocal agreement between Canada and the indivuals home country.

Each time an individual enters Canada even with a visa the reasons for visit will be assessed by CBSA and there are only so many times can enter for extended periods without raising a few red flags.

Staying for 6 months, exiting for a few days, then expecting to stay for another 6 months could be exactly a reason for future inspection for reasons supporting multiple month visits even if telling CBSA only planning to stay for a shorter time. If not convincing it is still possible visa or not to be refused entry given multiple entries with extended stays could imply unauthorised work or no eventual intention to return to home country..

As previous poster has said no law against coming and going but frequency and short intervals between will make it harder each time.
