Hi,

I'm currently in the process of applying Super visa for my parents, who previously applied for a visitor visa and got denied on the grounds that will not be leaving Canada based on the purpose of their visit and their strong ties to Canada vs the home country.

I'm planning to keep the duration of the super visa for 7 months (just to keep it above 6 months), is it going to be too short or is it better if I extend it to at least 1 year ?

Thank you!

Hello

Supervisa allows any parent or grandparent to stay upto 5 years at a stretch.
So you do not really need to worry about the duration that you mention in the invitation letter. When I applied for my mother, I put about 4 months for her duration of stay.
You can put 7 month, 6 months...it should be fine.
The most important documents are your NOA, Letter of employment, a fully paid health insurance that covers 1 year, your bankstatements.
If there is more than 1 person earning in the household, then please include proof showing the total income of the household.
Rest do not worry too much about the duration you mention in the invitation letter.
Please make sure you provide all the needed documents.

Hope this helps.

Thank you
