Hi everyone;
i checked with Al-Fardan Exchange (UAE) and found out that they issues a draft cheque that hold the my and can be withdrawn from a bank in Toronto. Can anyone confirm that this is acceptable as a proof of fund at POE in Toronto? Please advice.

Hi FFFF, i myself have used a draft from AL FARADAN as POF.

Hi guys,

Quick question.

1/The checklist says that you must provide Proof of relationship to your close relative in Canada, such as birth, marriage or adoption certificates.

However, it also says that If your close relative is a permanent resident of Canada: photocopy of his or her Record of Landing (IMM 1000), Confirmation of Permanent Residence or Permanent Resident Card.

So would the second one do without the first? I can't obviously send their birth certificates and they haven't asked for it to be notarised.

2/Do you need to send notarised degree of education or will the college transcripts suffice?

Thanks!

Hi , in my case i had arranged the CITIZENSHIP and BIRTH CERTIFICATE copy of my blood relative in Canada. Along with that his credit card statement too, erased his CC number on his statement. Just to show the VO , that he is still present in Canada.

Cheers...

I am planning to land on 26 June 2011 with my family. We are five and I am carrying with me $26000 in cash. I am also carrying my bank statement for the last year from Sep 2010. to June 2011 (from Riyadh Bank in Saudi Arabia), showing the salary transfer to my bank account in Saudi Riayals around 17500 monthly. Also I am carrying with me the receipt showing transferring the money from Saudi Riyals into US Dollars from exchange office located in Alkabor. Do you think this sufficient to pass the immigration officer without questioning?

Hi, if u are already carrying cash with you of CAD 26,000,then that is more then enough. You dont require to carry any other statements or receipts or source of ur funds.

Just feel relax..! ;)

Thanks SATDXB. One further question --Do you think declaring this amount generates questions at customs point? Can I distribute it among my family memebers, for example give my wife $9000, myself $9000 and my little duaghter (8 years) $8000 and avoid declaring? do you think this will work? they said that if any of immigrant hold 10000 dollars or more it should be declared? advise me please

Hi Ameer
Declaring this cash won't affect you in any ways as you are legally required to bring this landing funds into Canada while landing. And any reasonable amount of asset you bring with you while landing is tax excempted so do not worry dude.
All the best for your landing.
Pls do share your landing experiences

Yep, first of all, no questions will be raised. And secondly , you are right. No need to declare it. As i was carrying 14,000 CAD with me. And we were only two people. So i declared on the landing card that we are carrying more then 10,000 CAD. Then the passport controller unticked that option as he said you are two persons and the amount gets divided in you both. So per person you are carrying less then 10,000 CAD.

So no worries at all..! ;)
