Hello,

I'm in Saudi Arabia. My consultant is based in Sharjah though. Really? Is it a DHL policy only or a Canadian Immigration rule? I am planning to bring my tv, home theathre and other electronic gadgets too. Can anyone confirm this please?

None of those things will work here [it's NTSC in Canada, while the Dubai ones r of PAL std], except the H/Theatre Receiver [sans the DVD player]. Ditto for Camcorders, PS3/Wii etc.

With due respect to our Captain, modern TVs do have PAL/NTSC/CAM/SECAM systems, also most of the gadgetes nowadays support 110V-240V.. (Still, its a big hassle to carry these things for extra cost) Even then I cant leave behind my amplifier behind when I will move permanently, added it to Goods to follow list..

OMG! I just hope mine is a muti system kind. Saudi Arabia operates in PAL too. This i a very important info Captain. Thanks.

Dear Qorax

I have an imp query to ask..
i am a post June 2010 applicant and having 72 or 70 numbers ( 5 numbers due to a relative in Canada)..
my aunt ( relative) provided me with her passport copy, her birth certificate and copy of passport showing her PR status in canada at the time i applied ...Due to some family problem, relative over there is no longer willing to cooperate..
i have a doubt that VO london may ask the PR copy or some other proof which i guess i wont b able to submit..
Now coming to points ... it may b 67 or 65 left if they dont consider my POR.
NOC is 3131..i have done Bachelor in Pharmacy (4 years ) and Doctorate in Pharmacy ( 1 year condensed course )..its 17 years full time study with no masters.....i have provided VO both the degrees and transcripts of it..Now i am not sure whether they give me 20 points or 22 points considering two degrees..i really dont have any idea...
if it is 22 ,then i ll be having 67 points and no worries as VO counts the minimal requirement..
but if 20, then i ll be clean bold..
my question ...is there any way i can come to know how many points i have been awarded? eg .. through CAIPS..if through caips then how to use it
secondly , i claimed 17 points for experience for two years..by the end of June 11, it would be 3 years so can i claim for 19 points by submitting updated experience letter in case of 65 points...?????
my status is RBVO since Feb 20..
i am strongly having my eyes on yur detailed guidance..

Thanking you in Advance

Oh, mine is a 'modern TV' too... purchased here - 'Samsung, 46" LED, 2010 edition' -- nope doesn't work on PAL stds.

In fact, in Future Shop, they didn't have a single piece which'd work on multiple systems... any brand. Yes, they r available - but unfortunately, not on the shelves.

Qorax

Ps.: Neither is my Harman/Kardon Home Theatre system... it's a PAL [from Dubai] - doesn't work with the Samsung TV... I'm only using it as a 7.1 H/T Receiver, connected to my Samsung Blu-ray player, thru Optical Cable. And yes, my HD Camcorders do not work as well [Dubai PAL stds], JVC HD7, HD3, GZMG330 [SD cam], Toshiba-Camileo [Ultraport] & Pentax-Optio [digicam]. So doesn't my kid's PS3, WII(i) & other paraphernalia.

U almost sound like Jnathan here - same story reg. the Canadian relative.

1. If u cannot send the updated POR docs - poof, gone those adaptability points! Take/make all efforts to have cooperation with those folks - that's your best bet.

2. Your 2nd degree isn't a full course... I believe that wouldn't get u the points either.

3. Yes, send those updated exp letters - though the VO might have already assessed those points - yet, a 'humble plea' does the trick, many a times. Do write an explanation letter to him/her - that'd hold u good.

4. U can get those info from your CAIPS - but unfortunately, many a times those aren't logged in the notes... if that becomes the case, then obtaining the CAIPS might be futile.

Good luck!

Dears, this is the requirement for PCC for non residents.

As for whoever living abroad, at the time, he should send the fingerprint record, attested by UAE embassy abroad or any GCC Council.

Requirements
1‐ Fingerprint card approved by the U.A.E. or any G.C.C. council
2‐ (2) recent passport size photographs and valid passport copy
3‐ U.A.E visa copy, if possible
4‐ 70 (AED) – delivery charges
5‐ Purpose for applying (compulsory

Currently I am working in Qatar. I had already applied & got PCC twice when I was in Dubai on resident visa. Dubai police took my fingerprints records only first time where as Second time they had my fingerprint records in their system.

My question is Do I need to do this process again? First go for fingerprint records in CID dept Qatar then get approved by embassy or any GCC council.

Or I can ask my friend to approach Dubai police without attested fingerprint report since they already have my fingerprint records in their system?

Please advise your valuable information.

Thanks in advance
