congrats buddy Satdxb

Please advise:

Our family of 5 landed in Toronto on Dec 18, 2010. I as per my plan we returned to our country of current residence (UAE) on Jan 6, 2011. This was due to:
1. my job commitments and
2. children’s on going school year.

We plan to close out from here and move to Canada permanently in June 2012. Our PR cards started to arrive at my Toronto address in the first week of February. On March 1, I received a letter (dated Feb 28) stating that the photo of my youngest (3 year old) was not in accordance to the specs given and that he should report to the Toronto Office in person to give his new photos within 180 days.

So my question is:
Can we let the 180 days pass and let the PR application default and when we arrive next year we could put in a fresh application?

Will this be a problem? We want to avoid the expense and hassle of traveling to Canada from the UAE if at all possible.I look forward to receiving your expert advice soon.

I will be going back to Ontario for 9 days vacation from UAE as I went back here for work after successful landing. Can I apply now for my OHIP card or I can only apply later if I have a total of 3 months stay in Canada? Please advise.

Hi, after a stay of 3 months only you can apply. Not before that. Better to have travel insurance for your entire trip.

Cheers..

it's Wednesday, hope to hear some good news from london office.. my PPR is taking so slow...

CAUTION FOR FRIENDS WHO ARE PLANNING TO LAND

Just stumbled upon a member- Ozzie's Post about his landing experience which was sort of nightmarish, to say the least.

Please refer this link :

See what the poor guy had to say :
"Guys Guys Guys I request all of you please check you COPR 2000 times before you making your landing, check every little piece of information so that no one has to go thru what I did 4 sleepless nights, stress, worry and disappointment". :o

Can never enough emphasize the importance of dates and details of your papers. See everything matches viz name/DOB/Doc numbers etc. etc.

So, SATDXB, Deeaar, Ranjan, Mahesh, BonjourCanada, Shanks78 and others, please take ample care and then relax to enjoy your new life! 8) ;D

Best Wishes,

Bestpal

Yes, u can process his PRCs later, once u return. However, there'd be a $50 charge.
And remember, he'd require a PRTD for coming back.
