We are now preparing for our landing sometime in early April.

I have a few questions and would appreciate your answers / experience.

1. Can I drive into Canada with a rented car from the US for the landing ? We plan to return after 2 weeks.

2. My goods to follow will come in two parts - from Dubai and from India. Can I have two separate 'Goods to Follow' forms ?

3. Can I carry POF in USD as this is only a short landing and I don't want to lose money in exchange rates/conversion.

Thanks.

Hi Akbar

Not sure about the rented car
In terms of goods to follow it should be one list as long as you are shipping the goods it doesnt really matter where the goods are coming from. You can put whatever you think you will definitely get and the stuff you are not sure of on it and decide later when you move here what you really want .
The 3rd point is quite imp. If you can spare some cash use the POF to open a bank account and apply for cc for both you and your wife as this will be the starting point of building your credit history in Canada. Also once your POF are in the bank you can always transfer money out later if you like or you can leave it in the bank and use it as a setting up house fund when you make the final move
Lets chat on the 3rd point when you can as lots of people don't realize the importance of building a credit history in Canada and incur higher charges later when they apply for a mortgage.

Hi All
This is a bill introduced in the parliament but will take months or even a year to pass as per the official report.

Hi Pachochay,

I went to Dr. Rita and they told me they will dispatch the results in 5 days to Dehli and it will take 2 days to reach there..
And my experience with them is very good. I choose them as its near to residence..
Thank you, Vigilant. Has the visa office already received your medical results? All the best on your application.

You can try Dr. Abdullah Dawoodbhai in Al Zahra Hospital sharjah. very quick and very good. Same day submission normally as happened in my case.
Thank you, Ali. Got another good feedback also. At what stage are you in now?

No I called at clinic and they said still they have not received the results from their lab.. its almost 7 days.. after that the Dr. will review and then they will dispatch the reports to Dehli office. which may take 2 to 3 days working dayz more... :(
