Congratulation to all those who received visa and wish them safe & smooth landing.

Besides many other important activities.....opening a bank account and choosing right bank is also very important.
I will personally suggest you to open your first account with RBC or ScotiaBank as both give guaranteed approval for credit card without credit history or security deposit.

If you use referral link below to open account with ScotiaBank...they will give you $50 cash deposit as welcome

When I check my status on E-CAS, it says medicals received but doesn't inform about the date when its received. Is this normal? Generally my case shows "IN - PROCESS" and when I click that link than it shows details of medicals received along with others.

Briefly, our medicals done in April 2013, X ray delayed due to pregnancy & now done in Nov 2013 & in Dec all updated docs of new born are sent & recvd too by Paris.

If anyone knows kindly assist on medical receipt date not displayed.

date is not mentioned in the medicals, but you are in the last stage, just wait for few weeks, if your security BGC is already passed then u will receive PPR very soon. don't worry this the their procedure.

TD Bank is an excellent option as well. They are the 2nd biggest after RBC, and provides good options for newcomers

Going by what I have seen here, there is no hard and fast rule for PPR. It's a waiting game and patience is a virtue. I have also been waiting since Nov 12, when my PCC and RPRF and medical were received. It seems unlikley that there will be any movement over the next two weeks at least, by the time people come back from Christmas and New Year holidays. Till then, chill out and have a Happy new Year.

Advance Happy New Year to all!!! Need some help from those who have an experience in applying for membership in APEGA and Licensure Exam. We're planning to land in ALberta by March 2014 together with my wife & 2 kids. I already started preparing the necessary documents like submitting the Education Records direct from my school in the Philippines to APEGA. Im still preparing the other requirements such as the Experience Record while im still here in Dubai, while i'll do the online application once i finished it... Any tips, information or advise on how to apply for membership in APEGA is big enough to help me on this. How about the TOEFEL? Is my 13 years total experience as Engineer (7 years in DUbai) is enough to qualify? I know that i need to upgrade my philippine education to met the canadian standards, do i need to go back to school or just some bridging program? what are the best thing to do?
