Well, checking prices from various cargo services. But they are reluctant to give door-to-door service for Calgary, which as per them, can be quite expensive. Instead, they are giving quote for door-to-port cargo till Vancouver. Will it be easy to clear the stuff from Vancouver and take it to Calgary? Or is there any Cargo service which gives door to door service till Calgary? What is your experience guys?

Hi AAJ,

Please note that it is advisable to move door to port only from here as cost will be economical and
once you have landed there then you can check locally with few removal companies and this way your
costs will be less but if you take door to door then it will be very expensive.

For door to door cases shipping companies here and in Canada will markup really high as you are
one off customer but once you are there and check locally with 2 or 3 companies you will have
an idea as to which one you should choose.

All the best !!!

Hello Everyone,

Would like to know if anyone has any idea with regards to processing time of files
and medicals etc. at Abu Dhabi visa office.

I have applied under Quebec investor category and I have got my file no. from CIO Nova Scotia
on 19th April 2013 and file status on online shows only "application received". I had recently
written to CIO asking status of my file and got a reply that my file is held with Abu Dhabi office.

Have written to Abu Dhabi VO but no response as yet so would like to know if anybody in
similar case situation has got their file in Abu Dhabi and what are the time periods applicable.

I know all of us are asking same questions but if anybody has more experience on this situation
and will appreciate if they can share their expriences.

God bless !!!

Dear Viz,

Thanks a lot for your feedback. I am thinking about going for door to port possibility. Can you please advise further if I shall have to go to Vancouver (from Calgary) to clear the shipment or these removal companies can clear and ship my stuff to Calgary without me going there? Also, do you have any idea about their prices?

Regards,
AAJ

You may check with Newstar International Moving, a clearing agent based in Toronto. They did an amazing job in clearing my cargo which had arrived from Dubai. The website is www.neostarinternationalmoving.com

Hi AAJ,

I have checked around and found some details for you and have got recommendations
for the following 2 companies

Linda Andrew, Move Manager
landrew@williamsmoving.com
7757 – 8 Street N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 8A2, Canada
T 403.295.5546 F 403.212.1945
TF 1.866.WMS.MOVE (967.6683)
www.williamsmoving.com

Brytor International Moving
1350 42nd Ave SE, Suite M
Calgary AB T2G 4V5
Tel: 403-287-3066
www.brytor.ca
This company you can get their email address from their website.

In Canada, the owners of the personal effects must go to Canada customs
in person and customs clear the goods themselves. If you get service from the
carrier to Calgary ramp, then Calgary will be the customs clearance point which
would also be best for your client as then he would not have to travel much to the
customs office responsible for his cargo.

You can Locally contact Somakumar Phoenix Relocations - 055 968 3387 as he has
been recommended by a friend.

Basically you have will have to book container upto Calgary Ramp like it is inland
depot and then you can clear the goods there and contact above companies to
give you all charges on arrival at Calgary Ramp to your residence and you will need
a proper address or zip code to get complete quote as in USA & Canada they will
not normally quote unless you can provide them zip code or an address.

Hope this will be of help and all the best !!

God Bless.

Dear Coolguy,

I recd my IELTS score...worried whether my applicaiton will be accepted or not. Overall IELTS score is 6. but in reading I scored 5.5 only. Will my application be accepted if my total FSW points reach above 67. ie I am adding IELTS score points except reading ...
FSW POints
Listening 4
Writing 5
Speaking 5
-------------------------
Total Ielts 14 points + all other points 56 points ( with an employment offer)

Kindly suggest me will my application will be approved with ielts reading points 5.5 or do I need to rewrite the test.

Thanks.

Yes, you will get PR visa stamped on your passport even though you have not landed in Canada anytime.

You need to check following for applying under FSW:-

1) Occupation List (check whether the CAP** has reached or still you can apply)
2) Your IELTS (English language test result)
3) Education Credential Assessment

** There is a limit of 300 applications per year for each category such as IT, Doctors, Etc. If the limit is reached , you cannot apply this year and try next year.

U need 6 band in each session

U need to reappear for test. This score is not valid
