Hello,

I used to live in Dubai and now need to get a police clearance certificates from there. Can someone tell me what the procedure is and how long does it take

It's tough call. Though there is a procedure of collecting your 'finger prints' thru the local Police &/or the Consulate/Passport Office & submit it along with the PCC Forms to CID-Dubai, thru an agent or by post/courier.

But, I'm afraid, they are not 'keen' to oblige in such cases & take a very non-committal view. Check with member Aybee, he is getting it done thru an agent.

Its a PAIN.....I has already been more than 2 months that i have been trying to get it from sharjah !!!!

I am also from Dubai. I applied for immigration in the month of October 2008. But due to restructuring at Canada office, I received initial approval in the month of May 2009. I was asked to submit all my papers within 120 days. Which I did except IELTS results. I could submit my IELTS results by January 2010. All my papers were submitted in London office. My case is handled by a consultant based in Karama. They said I should expect some correspondence from London office by March. But still there's no news.
Is there anyone who might be in the same boat like mine or who might have received a call for Medical with the same timeline?
How long, you people think, it might take for them to send a response?

Yes, till the time u r 'landing' a day before it is fine.
But, remember to check the flight details... sometimes u start at Day-1 & land in Day-2. If that happens, u'll be devastated.

However, why r u delaying it? If I were u, I would have gone today. Or at least kept enough margin.

Usually London sends the PPR within 3-4 months of meds. At max 5-6 months, if the security check gets externally done. However, no sure shot answer is possible of the 'longest', 'coz if there r 'red-flags', the timeframe can be any [though someone posted in a forum that the max is 21 months, but not sure].

Your apps were incomplete till the IELTS was sent. From Jan-10 [after the same was received], your file has moved for further processing -aka 'out of queue'. Hereon, expect to get something in approx 4 months time. If something comes-up earlier it is a bonus.

U get it "by hand", in 2-3 days.

I don't know how my case will be handled if I eventually go back to India. I have also heard that passports can't be couriered out of India, in case I need to send them to London for visa stamping.

U can apply for UK visa [or Shengen visa] & get the Canadian visa stamped personally. It takes 2 weeks, if delivered by hand.

Dear All,

This is my first post in the forum & I am starting with a silly question (asked by many & answered by many - i am still confused: Sorry for that )
I have submitted by application through an agent in Dubai & have received letter for submitting the documents on 24 March 2010. I have almost all of the documents in order & need to get them attested now.

Question 1: From where do i get all the documents attested in Dubai (Qualification, Experience, Identity etc)?
Question 2: How much will be the cost per copy?

I know its pretty convinient to get it done back in Mumbai, India, but i have not immediate plans to visit.
