Hi Humsafar.

With this, we cannot bring the gold out of Dubai if we cannot show receipt? Or we can still bring gold out of Dubai and tell them honestly that we don not have receipt. . .since in reality we received gold gifts (in our case eg. 2 grams of coin/ 5 grams of bracelet) from our friends and relatives.

My questions is. . .can we still bring gold without receipt and tell them that there is no receipt (since they are gifts) to totally e cannot bring those golds out of Dubai?

Thanks

I am note sure about gifted gold, a few days back my wife traveled with her jewelry but one one asked her, may be they select on random basis, or only males. I am note sure. but their attitude was slightly hostile, i was surprised, they took the passport, took me on one side then investigated, matched the name on passport with the receipts and then allowed me to go.

Hi all,

I was asked by LVO to provide updated Schedule A / Background Declaration Form. My question is, in the personal history, do i need to mention the short trips to my home country or any other country?

Please help. Thanks

Hi

My advice to you is that if you have the funds carry them with you and open a bank account in Canada and apply for credit cards. This will help you in building a credit history and in the future when you make your final move to Canada

If you are there for a longer period you can open a bank account, apply for credit cards eave enough money in the account so you don't get charged any bank fees and the rest you can carry back with you

Hope this helps

best regards

You can't go wrong with the big banks - BMO, RBC, Scotia Bank, TD & CIBC

Try this site for a comparison of the various services offered by the above and a few other banks -www.nofeebanking.ca

HI

The best way is to start an account with Scotia bank so u wont have any charges for 1 year , after that they will charge CAD 11.95 per month for checking a/c. All other banks charge from the start itself for checking a/c. for a book of 50 cheques we will be charged CAD 42.50.

if u open a saving a/c there is no service charge BUT if u do any kind of transaction , u will get charged for each and every transaction u do eg: if u do any purchase with atm from saving a/c u will get CAD 5 as transaction charge.

in saving a/c u will get 1.1% interest (current rate- june 2013)

Hope u got an idea :D. its very differnt from UAE
