Qorax or seniors

Do you have any suggestions please....

Hi lovie,

Did the immigration officer given u any form regarding PR card?did s/he noted ur address?
Best thing in my opinion would b calling PR card processing dept and updating address( hoping immigration officer hasnt left any remark in the file);check for tel. number under cic website.i
My piece of advice would b,dont leave country untill u apply for PR card.

Act quickly dont waste time,u can get representative on phone after long waiting,u can get clear idea after talking to one.

Good luck.

Hi there

Yes the officer did give me a form regarding the card , but no he did not note down the address that I intended to give.

\but yes, i did call the cic call centre and they said i could give them the address over the phone and they would send me the PR card within 88 days to the specified address.

so I am thinking that , thats what i ill be doing . I dont know if he has left a remark on my file.

i will just take the chance and apply

Hey lovie,

Just chill,i dont think there will b any issue.if there would have been any u would have got it while talking to PR card representative.
When we landed,we didnt hv address to give except for hotel addesss, the immigration officer had given form n asked us to fill address n fax,he also said we can update address online, once we get hold of permanent address.

Hi everyone

Yesterday with god's grace I completed my landing in Ottawa.6
Everything was went fine , my only issue was that the immigration officer refused to fill my application for PR card as he saw in my embarkation card that I will be staying for 28 days only. I tried reason but in vain, he just said that at this moment you are not here to establish your permanent residency , you have to get s visa , come back and then apply for PR card.
I was very disappointed on hearing that as I have read here many places that it is difficult to re enter without a PR card.
Is there anything else I can do , while I am here in Canada and get the PR card application done.

The immigration officer was so confused, initially he said no, then said OK, told Me to fill the application form and fax it dome number , then he said no again !!

What can I do guys , please advise !!!!

Lovie

You got to be kidding! Right? If you have an immigrant visa why would you put there that you are only staying for 28 days? Sorry, but the border guard is correct. You can't possibly be establishing residency if you are only staying for 28 days...

waow thats a great effort. i am soooooooooooooooooooooo glad to watch that some where atleast int he world muslims are showing up to be united an together thats awesome my friends ;)
there is a problem now basically associated with the muslims immigrations... canadian immigration is now soo tough to attain for muslims especillay pakistanis. there are a lot of restictionss now implicated on s >:(

???

Hi friedbrains

So how many days would mean " establishing residency " , do you have a number ??

Basically even if I did not have a return ticket and intended to stay on , and then later probably wish to travel somewhere in another 2-3 months , so to come back I would still need a PR card , right ???

::)

Congrats! Yes, you can get medical done here in Dubai. Just type 'Designated Medical Practitioners for conducting medical for Canadian immigration in Dubai'. Call them and find out their charges and whereabouts.

Dear Qamar,

I would like to assure you that no need to worry. I was in the same position, and I received my PPR request 45 days my medicals were to expire. Obviously I couldnt have travelled so quickly. I live in dubai, and am from Pakistan, and applied in 2009.

So my suggestion to you is to prepare for a December landing. Stay positive. If you have the time and finance, you can apply for a UK visa asap, incase you receive a PPR request, you can travel to London to give in the passports by hand. But this is only if you have the time, energy and finance. If not, just be patient. It will come.
. Alibhai

Thanks a lot for your encouraging narration. Nevertheless this abnormal delay is really frustrating and does not allow one to make a plane suiting his/her schedules, job commitments and so on.

Any way, have to wait and wait, nothing can be done and asking them repeatedly may be counter-productive....regards
