Hi Charm

Between the 2 of you 14k is fine
Its 10k per person

But if you want to carry more than 20k i.e. more than 10k per head its fine as well. All you have to do is declare it during landing and then when you go to get your GTF list stamped the officer there will assist in filling the form for currency
also if its in cash they will want to count it

We just got back and went through a similar process when we landed at Toronto Pearson

Hope that helps

er2d2g

Thanks er2d2g, this has really cleared my query :)

Dear All,

I got my rejection letter this year stating that my job description does not match.

I am planning to apply for a student visa kindly enlighten me with the following:
1. how to get a cheap university
2. which state in canada offers cheap tuition and cost of living.

Please advise...i really want to move out from dubai to get the benefits from other country on my retirement.

Thanks

1. The eCas address doesn't change for everyone.
2. A 'DM' within one day of receiving pp package is 'awesome' -- never heard before.
3. Usually in 4-6 weeks ur pps should come back, in Bahrain. At max 2-months.
4. U should only write to them 'after' 2-months.

Hi Sir,

Once u've passed ur 'eligibility' criterion [viz. 2nd AOR] u r safe on the points front... age, edn, exp, lingo, adap etc. all stands 'locked'. Thus u've nothing to worry.

Understanding Client Application Status

Dear Biju/Qorax/Seniors,

I posted the below query earlier also and am waiting for your reply........please assist me..........
.

I am new to this forum. Please help me understand this message appearing in my Client Application Status:

We received your application for permanent residence on April 13, 2010.
We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on July 19, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
Your application and supporting documents were received by the London England office. They are pending review.
We transferred your application to the London England office on July 28, 2010. The London England office may contact you.
Your application was reviewed and we started processing on April 12, 2012.

As I have applied independently from UAE without using a consultant/lawyer, please let me know what will be the next step after this. I also received a letter dated 16th April 2012 from High Commission of Canada (UK) stating that my application has been reviewed by an officer and found to be eligible for further processing and they anticipate being able to advise me of the next processing steps in 6 to 12 months time. They also returned few of my original documents (work experience letters, marriage photographs, wife's birth certificate) stating that all irreplaceable original documents which were not obtained for the purpose of submitting an application for immigration, are being returned.

Now, I will appreciate if someone can let me know what is the next step and how much more time they require to inform me of the next step.

Thank you.

Dear Sir Qorax,

We sent our passports from the UAE on July 22 and they reached there on July 23. Could you guess how much time it takes to get the passports back? (Actually, I was planning a holiday, thus the question)

Thanks and Regards,

Around 3-weeks, usually.
Comes back thru diplomatic mailbag of CHC-Adh, which ply every alternate week, generally on a Tuesday at Adh. Whereinafter they contact Aramex to pick-it-up & deliver, FOD, to the addressee.
