I sent an e mail before going on Eid holidays to Ottawa office and I got the following reply from them which I wanna share with you guys.
"
November 1, 2011

Dear Sir/Madam,

Your application is in progress. We are awaiting for the results of background verifications. The officer in carriage of your file will contact you if/when action is required from you.

Thank you for your interest in Canada."

My question is that if they are awaiting for my background checking then does it mean my medical is through and totally depend upon my background and security checks. I did not travel much except to my home country and to Saudi Arabia for my religious purpose where I stayed only for one week.

My wife was born in Saudi Arabia , but came back after five or years to home country. She travelled with me only so I think it wouldn't not be a problem.

Yes you are through with your Medical and now only Back ground check result is awaited, based on which your PPR will be issued

Hi dear, the reply shows the positive sign of the clearance of medicals. And hopefully very soon you would be receiving the PPR too.

I (principal applicant only) got today medical furtherance letter from CHC London. I and my family had our medicals last July 2011 and DMP did not tell us anything if there was something wrong with our medicals. During our medical my BP was 160/80 done twice.

What could be this medical furtherance? After this test, what will be our chances in overcoming this situation?
