Dear Captain, All seniors,
I am still confused concerning the POF. In fact, my problem is that I am NOT landing for good. I will stay for only two weeks as my children will have to finish their high school and BA university. So, my actual settlement will be some time in June or July 2013. This said, I will have to return the money I am taking with me as POF. I will take part of it as cash but the rest I don't know what to do!! My bank (National Bank of Oman NBO) Manager told me I can take a certified Bank statement documented by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Canada in UAE. My question is : Will the IOs accept it?
What if I take all my money and then immediately open a bank account there? Can I draw it when I am leaving easily?
Please help

Thansk for your all of nice words and support at this stage of my life but i just want to know the status as i am desperatly waiting for passport.but my on line status show below even i have sent my passports on 11 dec 2012

We received your application for permanent residence on November 23, 2009.
We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on January 25, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
Your application and supporting documents were received by the London England office. They are pending review.
We transferred your application to the London England office on February 4, 2010. The London England office may contact you.
We transferred your application to the London England office on July 27, 2010. The London England office may contact you.
Your application was reviewed and we started processing on February 14, 2012.

I am confused even they asked my PPR still nothing mentioned any one know about it and help me because i really needs my passport asap.

As per ur below post, u've submitted ur pps on 9th Dec, which has been received by ur VO on 11th Dec. Towards the same I had replied that it usually takes 4-6 weeks to get them back, stamped...

I have sent my Passports on 9th Dec 2012 and CHC recieved on 11th Dec 2012 but on ... So i didnt have passports to travel as i am working in UAE ...
Any one help me when i will get passport.

...And nothing can be done to expedite the returning of the same. Thus, ur status, as of now, is "In Process"... b'coz they r 'working' on it. As it gets stamped -- u'd've "DM" on ur e-CAS... whereafter it'd be matter of days before u receive ur pps back.

Advise: Do Not Contact ur IO anymore, b'coz that might get ur pps back 'unstamped'... and they might tell u to perform ur overseas trip and reSubmit it upon return. DANGER -- that'd mess up everything... delay ur process... which is unwarranted at this stage - as u might be receiving ur pps back anytime now!

Ur NBO bank manager is talking nonsense.
1. MFA & Canadian Consulate will not certify that bank statement. Especially the Cdn Consulate.
2. Yes, u can. No questions asked... it's ur money.

Hi, we are family of 3 and planning to land in Canada on May.
would like to know if I landed firts in Canada and my wife and daughter will follow on October. will they need to bring to them another bank draft? how about the COPR?

For 'landing' - NO (usually).

Thank you very much for clearing my previous query. Could you or other seniors advice on the below?

1. Should the salary necessarily be mentioned in the Experience letter, as in my case I have two experience letter (from HR mentioning only position and from the dept. head which explains my job description) received at the time of leaving the company, but there was no salary mentioned in the letter, but I have offer letter in which the salary was mentioned.
2. I had temporarily worked in a company for 3 months while I was on visit visa, salary received in cash but no offer letter/experience letter available. Therefore, I should mention this in the application?
3. I do not have payslip for my previous companies available therefore, can I attach online bank statement copies as proof of salary transferred?
4. During my work, I was promoted from assistant to executive level but I could not find any document stating so, will it raise any question?

Thank you. It seems that this matter of POF is by no means easy, especially in my situation. Even Canadian Dollars are very rare here in Oman. I have been in the hunt for cash but in vain, plus the rates are extremely high reaching OR 0.419 for 1 Canadian Dollar.
Captain, can I take US Dollars instead?

I am thrilled to inform you that today I got my passports through Aramex from London CHC.

It took me around 1.5 years from the day I filed the PR application till I got the visas in my hands.

I'd like to take a moment and express my deepest appreciation and thanks for all of the forum members who were of tremendous help throughout this time.

For this, what is the time of the year when tickets to Toronoto will be the cheapest from Dubai??

Form-B4 is for "goods", not for "funds". There is no way, form or format for disclosing ur monies that u'd bring-in in the future. BTW, any funds that u bring to Canada, whenever, in whatever form, is not/never taxed.

I checked with the HR of the company i recently joined,asking about my uae residency visa processing ,they said it might take 3 weeks, and I since i got my PPR just yesterday I am afraid that I cant make the 30 days timeframe to give my passports so is it possible to send an email to lvo asking to extend the period further. is that possible....?

Hi,

1. No, not required.
2. No. W/out any documentation - How do u prove it?
3. They r not asking for it -- but if u had - it'd strengthen ur file. However, having as much as documentation of the current (or last) job helps.
4. No issues - but why do u have to mention that?
