Dear er2d2g
Hello ! Please do share your experience of CIIP sessnio. This would help us a lot as well.
Thanks
Hi ssinghdxb
I was a great session, They offer lots of advice on how to fit in our newly adopted country which we will call home in the near future. The session is divided into 2 parts
1. All day session divided into 3 parts
a. Background info on Canada. Understanding people, culture, provinces etc.
b. Basic skills for looking for a job, preparation for the process, language training etc.
c Interview process, workplace and job retention
2. Second session was a 2 hour one with my wife and me where we got a lot of online resource references
It was a great experience and I would recommend everyone who is planning to move permanently to attend the CIIP. Its funded by the government and the ACCC and they also have a link to lots of on ground partners who can assist you once you are in Canada.
2 things you should know before you attend the session is that they start by giving you the worst case scenario and help you build up to the point where you understand that 'too much is not enough' in terms of preparation before you make the final move and secondly they also give you an eye opener on why Canada is not just MTV ( Montreal,Toronto & Vancouver)
Hope this helps - they also have videos on the sessions and you can find some of them on the website I posted earlier
