Dual Passport Question - Australian application for 2 year working visa

Hi guys,

I've tried to track down this answer with no luck, I was hoping that someone can help me.. I appreciate that perhaps this topic has been covered other places, but I couldn't find anything. Any help would really be appreciated!

ME:
* Australian born, with an Australian passport AND a British Passport
* 28 years old
* Been overseas the majority of time since June 2009, lived in England for 26 months straight until April 2012 (Then went travelling through Central America, Canada before coming home to Australia Sep 12)

The situation:
* My girlfriend is Canadian and she had to move back to Vancouver for College.
* I have received my police check/licence check and applied for an AUSTRALIAN two year working visa only today (2nd Jan, 2013)
* I have a flight at the end of Feb on reserve which is around 8 weeks away.

My questions:
1. Am i in trouble because I have lived out of Australia recently? I have heard some people say that you need to be in the country for a year before application?
2. If my visa doesn't arrive in time, can I legally travel on my fully valid UK passport as a tourist for a month or so, until my Australian visa arrives and it can be sent over to me?
2a. I guess I could recieve it in the mail, then go to Seattle and validate my visa on my return to Canada.

1. No, there is no residency requirement for Australians in the IEC (Other countries have a requirement of 18 months residency in the past 3 years)
2. Yes.
3. When/if you get the letter of introduction, you only have to go the border and "flagpole" you will still be required to have the $2500 proof of funds and Health Insurance with repatriation in it.
