Dual Citizenship with the Philippines

My wife is currently awaiting her oath date after passing her exam. One of the things we are now discussing is whether or not to maintain dual citizenship. Both countries allow dual citizenship. The main reasons we would want to keep her Filipino citizenship is because:

- It allows me to travel there without a Visa as long as we are together. Normally Canadians can stay for up to 3 weeks without a Visa, but if I travel with my wife as a Filipino Citizen, we could stay up to a year.
- While we plan to live our lives in Canada, one day we would like to have a winter home in the Philippines and it is a lot easier to own land in the Philippines if you are a citizen.

Does anyone have an opinion about potential negatives of Dual citizenship?

If she does renounce her Filipino Citizenship, how difficult is it to get it back if you were born there? (I assume that this will have to be answered by one of the Filipinos on this forum)

Thanks for your help,

Thanks for your help,
Have you gone through the primer issued by the CFO?

If the intention is to re-acquire Filipino citizenship - an application can also be during embassy outreach programs - check the embassy pages for schedules when such an outreach event will be heading near where you are - sample is from the PCG in Vancouver. We really have no intention of renouncing her Filipino citizenship if there isn't a good reason to do so. Thanks for the answers!
