Were you only given your license back because you said you were returning to India?

Would assume that you are in the same position as you were before. Although you obtained another physical copy of your license, Canada still considers your license as being confiscated.

If you return to Canada and use the new license you will risk getting into trouble. You should be trying to get a Canadian license.

No that won’t work because you are just getting another physical copy to get around the fact that your other physical copy was confiscated. The reason that the license was confiscated hasn’t been resolved or changed.
