Driving with a foreign license

Is it possible to drive with a foreign license for the first 3 months? I am a Canadian returning after 20 years. My driver license expired for more than 10 years. I know that it's not possible to renew it and I need to start over. It would be nice to use another license at beginning, I know the newcomers can do that, also visitors from another countries, not sure if returning Canadians can do that.

Where are you returning from? You might be able to exchange your DL

Romania. I don't think I can exchange it. I had a California driver license, but that expired long time ago, too.

No..Romania is not on the list. But you should be fine for 90 days, again depending on the province you move to.

Funny thing, UK where they drive on the other side on the road is, and many European countries are not included.
I'll be moving to Ontario.
