My Open Work Permit under PNP has just expired. I already applied for Bridging Work Permit extension last 2 months ago and still waiting for the results. I also have a in-process PR application under PNP. My question is, can I still use my Ontario Drivers License while on Implied Visa status?

Thanks
Chris

In Alberta is illegal but you can get away with it. You'll get a ticket and what not then you fight it in court and if you have your paper work then you can show the judge that you were on implied status and he'll cancel your ticket. If you're still on implied status still, you'll face the penalties.
Even if you get the judge to cancel your ticket, that won't stop the officer to tow your car(you pay the impounding and towing fee) if there's nobody else to drive it.
But once again, this is how it is in Alberta.

I had the same situation..i got my license extent for another 8 months when I showed the cic work permit application receipt to LICENCE issuer.....I believe in Ontario also they do the same....

@Jake m & SpoonRaccoon, thanks for the input guys. I don't own a car and just renting from time to time. My Ontario driver's license is still valid for 3+ years.

So my licence ran out on Jan 11 th 2016,
I went to re new and they couldn't as I had less than 3 months left on current work visa.
I applied for my bridging visa the next day and printed out the receipt. When I took this they re newed my licence no questions asked so even if your on implied status as long as you can show your receipt of application they will re new.
This was in Calgary Alberta

You are legally drive and work on implied status till the decision will be made.

I am 100% on the same scenario however my license is valid till 2017.

Thanks and Good Luck!

You mean your license expired ? You can renew your drivers license while under implied status ! You just need to bring the confirmation from citizenship and immigration that has the bar code and the registries in alberta renew the license for 1 year.
I would not recommend driving without license as in case of accident no insurance will cover you.
You can get ordered to court if caught etc.

In Saskatchewan if you present your Aor and proof of application then you can legally extend
your license for 8 months. i did it for me .

Hi, i am a student i am on applied status (I finished my credits and applied for a work permit). can I drive a car in Canada with an Indian license?
