Driving license steps - need help

So i intend to make a soft landing in the last week of March and would be staying for a week
Ive got a drivers license (non exchange) which is 9 years old
as per my research i qualify to directly give the G2 Test after clearing the written test and eye test provided i produce a proof of my driving experience

can someone please guide me :
1. A decent driving school preferably in and around downtown toronto which can give me a couple of hours of practice and then provide a car to give the test
2. Also do i get the actual license right away after passing the test or do they send it by post. Also if they send it by post then can i provide my cousin’s home address for them to send it
3. Also how does receiving stuff such as a PR Card / Driving License work by Post. Do they only hand deliver to the actual person or someone else at home can collect it on my behalf
4. this entire procedure of registering for the test and then practicing for a couple of hours and then giving the test - can this be done within a week

no i dont intend to surrender my existing license. Do i need to ?

They take away your overseas license in Ontario, I dont know why. I got driver’s license in many US states before moving here and over in US, they dont take your overseas license, they just take US states license. So be prepared to surrender overseas license on Ontario. Or else you can return to home country and get DL reissued.

But ive got a license from a Non-Exchange country. Do u think i would still need to surrender my license ?

Yes they still take away that license, which is absurd. Ideally they should take a test and see if a person can safely drive and follow all road rules, pass the test and give him/her the license. I understand they need to do graduated learning for teenager new drivers but they still do it for someone like 30 years old. That’s just so backward and put road blocks for people moving to Canada.

I am not moving, I am already here. Lived here for almost 7 years now. Just pointing out a dumb rule in a free society. Do you just want to follow every absurd rule just because you moved here?
