Hi Guys,

Im moving to Toronto on the 12th of September as a permanent residence and will have 20 months of driving experience in the UK. I understand in order to change my license over I need to have experience for 24 months. Adding the 60 days of being able to use my license in Toronto ill be short of that by 2 months.. Can I just wait until my license has been valid in the uk for 24 months and then get it changed over? Or will they make me take the g2 test as ill have only had the license for 22 months and then lived in Toronto for 2 months not being able to drive...

Any advice would be great!

Yes, you can 'wait' but of course you would not be able to drive or insure a car in Canada in what you call your 'two months'. Others have done this. If you are liv8ng in downtown TO, then not driving for 2 months might not be a particular hardship for you.

Yes that works
Also if you can get an idp, you can drive an extra month. For regular commute, as someone said, you will be good with ttc. If you are staying in downtown, many of the commercial establishments are interlinked underground through path.

An IDP would make no difference. 60 days is the limit.

There's the problem... Visitor vs Resident. Once you have established residence, you are not eligible for the "visitor" allowance, but are now limited to the 60 days "resident" limit.
Yep!
