I have got g license. I got before an month and i tried to check for the insurance quotes and i was getting quotes of 450 dollar to 500 dollar per month, which is too high....

Can i give address of any other place and get a lower cost as i am in toronto mississauga and its showing high that's why..

Can anyone suggest places where insurance is lower..? And is it legal to take insurance at that address and then stay in toronto with same insurance..

No - it's not legal. It's insurance fraud which is a crime.

You have to shop around with many agents. Regarding insurance in Canada, for home and car in particular, I recognized that the premium is calculated based on their experience of claims from their clients. So, an agent quote high for home but maybe low for car and vice versa.

In Ottawa, a day after getting full G, I got quotes from $280 to $350 a month from almost agents, but at last TD quoted about $200.

My advice is to continue shopping.

i paid $280 for my nissan sentra 2006 to Farms's for liability for ONE YEAR!. let me repeat, one year! not one month. If the car insurance industry in Canada is competitive, how can be possible this ridiculous pricing survive?

You should definitely talk to some insurance brokers to try to find a good price. As a new immigrant, they have to take the risk that your driving is ok. If you have a spotless driving record in your home country, getting a letting from your insurance company back home stating that might help. Otherwise, you just have to build up your spotless driving history in Canada again and every year, your prices should go down.

Yeah, I played around with quotes online - one average a new driver is bound to pay $500 a month - you add the price of gas and it is more than a person would pay for an average apartment, utilities included... cheaper to use public transportation and call a cab when needed...

But that way, you'll never get cheaper insurance, because of lack of driving experience
