Hi all,
I just extended my TRV from within Canada while I am working on my inland application. I called the Ministry of Transportation in Canada and I was informed that I could get an "abstract" from the (US Driver's License office) stating when my first driver's license was issued and I could attach my original driver's license in order to get it exchanged for a Canadian license so that I could drive while I await my inland application.
Please note, my US driver's license expired last month and I am not a US citizen. Despite this information, I was told that I could get my license exchanged. Is this true? Am I allowed to legally drive and obtain a Canadian driver's license while my inland application is in process?
Also, could I volunteer or job shadow (without being paid) while I await my inland application and BEFORE I receive my OWP?
Thank you all for your help. It is much appreciated!
