Drive US car to Canada for temporary visit as Canada PR

Hello, we live in US as work visa holders right now and plan to travel to Canada for around 2 weeks. Both of us obtained Canada PR earlier this year. Can we drive the US plate car without importing it?

I dont know whats the exact ruling but we did go on US plates a couple of times for 4-5 days and never had a problem - the first time for soft landing we told them that we'd be doing import process later.
