I am planning to register for my IELTS.

British Council dates are not available for December and January, however IDP dates are available for 5th & 12th Dec. Should I go ahead and book through IDP? I have heard study material is different for British Council Vs IDP...is that correct? Whats the difference?

Your opinion will help me.

These are my IELTS scores:
Listening: 7.0
Reading: 7.5
Writing: 6.0
Speaking: 7.0
Overall Band Score: 7.0

Wife's IELTS scores:

Reading: 8.0
Writing: 6.0
Speaking: 6.5
Overall Band Score: 7.0

hello guys, my partner and I have just submitted our EE. I would like to suggest for those sitting in IELTS to target at least 7 band score for each of the sub section such as Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking if you are going to apply as Skilled Immigrant. the points are too high at the moment and targeting a high band score, instead of sticking to 6 at a minimum, would greatly help your chances to be selected from the pool of aspiring immigrants. I know 6 is easy to get. but I'm pretty sure you don't want to re-take IELTS again once you know you have low points in EE. I have seen a couple of friends needing to re-take again, thus, paying more money either to British Council or IDP.

Better know these things as early as know to set the right expectation.
