Down grade work visa to visitor visa.

Hello all,

1-My spouse is from a visa exempt country, I`m a permanent resident, she got here last as a visitor, got a work visa which is about to expire next month, in the case she can no longer renew her work visa. Can she extend her stay without leaving the country? I mean, as a visitor.

2- How long someone if leaving canada, has to stay outside of the country do be able to return and stay 6 months more?

3-In the case she downgrade from work permit to visitor with no problem, her msp is also about to expire, will she be able to renew it under a visitor visa, but if I claim as my spouse? Does bc fraser health also restrict common in law to be living in co habitation for at least 12 months?

4-Can someone apply for msp if got an ITA and appply for permanent residency through EE?

1. Yes she can change her status to visitor before her work permit expires.

2. You can apply online to extend her stay past 6 months. She must remain in Canada.

3. No she won’t qualify for MSP. If you are married you don’t need to worry about 12 months of cohabitation.
