Yes, definately you will need proof of funds, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

check here too: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/proof-of-funds-express-entry-t263315.0.html

thanks josejaram for the reply.. Actually I have a RFD which is around a year old. So i m going to produce it as a proof of fund. But it is in post office and not into a bank. Though it is valid, i m into a confusion, whether i need to show a bank statement as well ????????

please reply !!

Hi,

as per below url. Financial institution must provide this.I hope post office can also provide similar letter.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp

Document requirements

The applicant should provide an official letter(s) from one or more financial institutions that lists all current bank and investment accounts as well as outstanding debts, such as credit card debts and loans.
o The letter(s) must be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution and must include the applicant’s name, the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and email address), the account numbers, the date each account was opened and the current balance of each account as well as the average balance for the past six months.
Other documents may also be requested, as necessary.

@prkartik ... thank u so much for replying to my query.

I have talked to the post office officials, they are ready to provide me the certificate in the required format. So it can fulfill my need of "proof of funds", but what about the bank statement, as i said don't get salary into my account. Do i still need to produce the 'transaction history' of my savings account ?? (I have savings account in post office as well as into bank).

Please see if u can tell me anything regarding this....... ???

If you are showing your post office account as a POF with 6 months of statement, you do not need a bank account information.

You do not need a bank statement to prove your work experience.
For foreign work experience, You need
Job experience/reference letter,
Pay slips,
Tax returns.

@can_indian ... thank u so much for your timely response.

you said Proof of funds with a 6 months record. How is that possible in case of a Fixed deposit???? , as they will clearly mention its start date and maturity date. I hope that will work. :-[ (it started in july 2016 nd going to mature in july17). !!!!!! means the funds are no doubt older than 6 months

Thats my question too!

I am in India and like most Indians I too have most of my amount in Fixed Deposit (not in savings account).

Is Fixed Deposit taken/counted as lquid fund or do I have to get break it and covert to liquid cash in savings account?

Regards
JSPCAN

@JSPCAN

that is not a problem if u have funds in the form of FD, as u will get a certificate from that financial institution, in which they will clearly mention that "these funds can be liquidated at any time, as per the discretion of account holder".

My concern is about showing savings account statements as well !! ::) as i don't have much balance in it. Also it is not frequently used by me !!

Somebody please help !!!!!!!!!! ???

Under R76 you are required to show Settlement Funds and Declare your assets to CIC. You can Show your FD as a part of Settlement Fund that you wish to use, and all other assets can be calculated and only figures should be included under Total Assets. You only have to attach prove for settlement funds and not Total Assets.

It is your choice which statement you attach but whichever you attach should have sufficient funds.

@BillHyatt... thanks for the reply.

I m gonna show my fixed deposit as a proof of funds and it has sufficient amount. But other than that i have a 'savings account' into a bank, which doesn't possess balance (but it is ACTIVE). So m i supposed to declare it as well ???

It was opened by me in 2013 but since then i never used it. I have activated it again last month only & there are hardly 4-5 transactions in it.
(Plus i don't get salary in account which i have already mentioned).

I might be asking silly questions. but i am new into this process, So kindly help me out !!

Thanks in advance... !!

You do not need to attach saving account statement if this is not your settlement funds. Only attach FD statements as a Proof of funds.

But when you will be asked to write Total Assets you can simply add the sum of all assets you own including Saving Accounts. For example, your FD has CAD 20,000 and your saving account has CAD 500. In Total Assets, you will write CAD 20,500 and in Settlement Funds, you will write CAD 20,000. You only need to provide documents related to your Settlement Funds.

If you don't want to include saving account at all then you can skip it. In that case, your Total Assets will be equal to your Settlement Funds. I hope it will help you. :)

:) :) :)... @BillHyatt thank u so much !! Indeed it was a big help.

You have cleared my doubt. I heard it right that people out here are so helpful.
Thanks again !!
