Doubts for ielts exams

I have given today IELTS EXAM in General Module. Listening and reading was quite tough. Here I want to know that what is minimum score I reuire to get 6.5 band in Reading and 7.5 band in listening? Please give minimum score. I know the range. 30 - 33 for reading and 30-34 for listening. But I want to know that what is the minimum score? means for reading its 32 or less and in listening is it 32 or 33? PLease reply soon.

There are not negative marking

Hi Pooja,

Wel of course no negative marking!

Remember,,,It is a test, which needs a lot of focus.
And to get 7.5 (for highest, 4 points) in Listening test needs a lot of focus.

So,,,,Practice hard & attempt all questions!!

Hii Jonty00..you have to get minimum 32 to get 6.5 in reading...in Listening you have to get minimum 36 to get 7.5 band..

Well Jaysaini, would you provide some authentic source from where you've taken this info, because I've been asking the same question over and over again in the forum and what I got to know was that to score a band of 7.5 in listening, one needs to answer at least 33 out of 40 questions correct; the same is evident from most of the websites for conversion of IELTS scores into bands including the one we are using at the moment! Please clarify!

Yes, you need to get 33 questions correct in listening and 30 in reading to get 6.5. This is a range, from 33 through 35 you will get 7.5 in listening. Hope this helps.

Yes, this was what I was told earlier by some of the forum mates but I got extremely tensed by these 36 score criteria posted above, coz as I know I was able to answer 34 or 35 questions correct in the listening section so as I believe, I should get a band of 7.5 in the listening section. Rest pray for me

That's right we have to write 33 correct answers to get 7.5 in Listening...
