I have no idea if CBSA will accept an Excel spreadsheet attached to the B4/B4A form - I've never heard anyone report doing this.

B4 is the first form. B4A is the continuation form. So you prepare one B4 form and then as many B4A forms as is required to complete your declaration.

I am QSW applicant and I landed in Quebec as principal applicant. Is it possible for my wife to land now in Vancouver alone?

Guys,

Lots of us have got the visa/s lately [2010]. And we are now having some doubt about our 'choice of landing', after being on this great forum & having surfed enough reg. various Canadian cities. Thus, the question, "Should I Land in the City mentioned in my Application/COPR, or can go to another Canadian city"?

Please be Clarified that:
As a federal skilled worker, we can chose any POE in Canada & complete our landing formalities, regardless of the destination mentionned in our Apps or the COPR, except Quebec* [details below].

Canada's immigration laws provide for a 2 step process for our visa applications:
>Step-1. The CIC/CHCs carry out stage One (read our apps processing system).
>Step-2. Carried out by an Immigration Officer at the POE.

Reg. step-1, we are already familiar. This is how we get our PR Visas. For the step-2 (at POE) however, landing is our "Right". Though not an 'automatic right', we must still satisfy the officer at the POE that our entry is permissible: A12(1), called the 'Verification of PR', outlined in Sections 19(1) & (2) of the Act. But, another thing is also involved in this step-2, called 'Completion of the Record of Landing' for admission into Canada, which is obligatory.

For this "Record of Landing", 'admissibility' is not affected by our choice of POE. All it's needed is to fill up certain forms, specifically the PR Card form (IMM 5444E), wherein we have to provide an address for card delivery. This can be anywhere, beyond the POE. This is how newcomers with COPR destination as Montreal-Quebec drive thru the POE of Sarnia, Bluewater Bridge. There are many other examples, but for brevity I just chose one.

*There is only 'one' catch though. For Quebec, although any FSW would be allowed to enter thru a Quebec POE, they cannot complete the 'Record of Landing' here. And would have to further drive/fly to another province (any) to report to its Immigration Officer for the 'completion' of record of landing. This is because Quebec needs the CSQ certificate to complete this procedure. Which only is for a Quebec PR applicant. (however, it is not vice-versa... a Quebec PR applicant can do all the formalities in any other Canadian POE).

End Note: Anyone of us FSWs can land in any Canadian POE, irrespective of what's written in our apps or the COPR.

Hope that's of some help.
Qorax.

I am going to land in Edmonton. I will be flying via Toronto with an 2 hour stopover there. Where will the documentation will be completed?

Toronto.

In my experience, two hours is not enough time to complete landing formalities in Toronto. I often find it a challenge to get to my connecting flight.

@ ohan ji,
I am of the view that ur landing formalty has to be completed at Vancouver,as ur sudent visa application was specifcally processed for the university located at Vancouver. Unless otherwise permitted by IO at designated port of landing,I have my doubt that u would have hassel free joining at the University in Toronto. Have u sent any communcation to VO, apprising him/her of ur second choice for joining study programme in TORONTO.
It is noticeable, however,an applicant under FSWP does have choice to complete landing formality other than the specified POE.

Other friends in the forum may please post their views in this regard.THANX.
Meanwhile, wishing u all the best.
Good luck nd MAY GOD BLSS ALL !!

Hi everybody;

I applied for FSW1 in 2011, I was PhD student in Alberta, now I am working full-time as a Postdoctoral research fellow in Quebec.

In one of the forms, it asks " where do you intend to live in Canada?". Well, in 2011, I put "Alberta" and now I am in Quebec. I am confused and worried about the answer to this question. The contract for my current job is until 2015 here in Quebec. If I put my intended place as Alberta, it is in conflict with my current job located in Quebec and if I put it as Quebec, it is in conflict with FSW application and they may reject my application by saying why I didn't apply in Quebec Skilled Worker program. It may also cause a conflict regarding the port of entry when I am going to land with landing visa.

Could you please help me on this. Thank you very much in advance for your consideration.

@Fortunate,
I am of the view that if u have apprised CHC about ur present employment status nd assuming that it is not in contrary to the guidelines for application under FSW1, there should not be any problem.Ur eligibilty under SW1 shall be assessed on the basis of information relating to the expeience u had during ur stay in Alberta .
Views of others in this regard are solicited to help get rid of FRIEND'S DOUBT.
Hope, this should help.
Good luck,MAY God bless all !!
