My friend got a letter from his agent saying it's from IRCC application for permanent residency has been received.
The letter also has a temporary application number. How can I check the authenticity of this document?
I fell something fishy with the letter. Since there were few grammatical mistakes and the UCI number has 13 digits.

Maybe raise this letter via a webform
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/contact-ircc/client-support-centre.html
Raise as much proof as possible to validate the main applicant identity
And explain your concerns
For example this representative have convyed me this approval letter and is asking me to pay their Admin fees in return of xxx$.
Explain how you become suspicious and now only wish to confirm whether this document is valid or a counterfeit.

If your purpose is to solely verify the numbers you have, you can call IRCC and provide the numbers you have. If they find your application, then the numbers are probably correct.

UCI Number is 8 or 10 digits. I know of a few cases where the applicant were provided falsified documents by their agents. They too had grammatical errors and wrong application number. The best way would be for the primary applicant to call IRCC and use the IVR to confirm the application number or talk to the agent.
