Actually you can send updated documents to the visa office at any time after they receive the file, without being asked for them. The visa officer will then examine all the documents available at the time when they start processing. For example, we initially provided estate agent quotations and mortgage letter as proof of funds with equity in our property. Then whilst our application had arrived at London visa office, we had saved up sufficient bank funds to also cover the minimum, so we sent these to the visa office as additional proof of funding.
Regarding POF in joint name with father, please note if you do get the funds transferred into your own name only, you should also get a signed affidavit from your father stating that these funds are now wholly yours and do not need to be repaid. VO will query such a large sum being deposited, and how otherwise will they know which portion of these funds are yours and which still belong to your father?
Best of luck,
Wayne.
