Hi guys,

I have received a reference letter from my previous employer. It needs to be notarized. However, the company I worked for is in Indore and now I have moved to Delhi. So, do I have to go all the way to Indore to get it notarized or can I get it from Delhi itself ? Pls let men know

Thanks and wouldn't it be a problem because they might say that my employer stays Indore then why notarized from Delhi ? Just curious
The purpose of a notarized document is for the notary to attest that the person who wrote it actually wrote it, not that the person who brought it to them said that someone else had written it. There will be an issue if the notary is from somewhere else. The notary themselves also should not be notarizing a document where they did not witness the original signature.

When notaries notarize documents, they are required to see the original document. They then make a copy and notarize the copy. They cannot notarize an original themselves because that would remove the point of notarization.

Right, true. Even I was in a dilemma myself. Also, the HR manager who appointed my wife changed after she left the company. Now the reference letter has been given by the new manager. Does it make a difference? Because cic would need an explanation. The HR who hired is different and reference letter is by someone else. How do we explain this situation to them ?
