Dear All,

I have 67+ points under my belt. I will get 4 points for wife's qualification as well. But the thing is that we have a kid 4 months old. We have decided not to apply for PR of my wife and child now as the child is small. We will apply after he is 3+ yrs old Can i apply for my PR only ? will it effect my points. and what reason will i submit that why i am not appying for my Wife & Child ?

pl. guide.

Then dont,You will NEVER have to worry because once you decline to do so,Your wife and child will not allowed to come over FOREVER even if you or them change their mind,So they can visit you as tourists but you never have to worry about them coming to Canada. What did they do to you to merit this punishment???Surely permanent disqualification is sort of harsh dont you think so???

By the time you get your PR it will be at least 2 years, and BCGuy is right. :)

In addition, your application without them is false anyway and if down the road or at some point CIC ever finds out you will be guilty of furnishing false information. If you do not want to take them along, simply state that on your application and apply indicating they will not be settling with you! Much easier route! As for your reasons, that is simply your business!

The OP just has to show the spouse and child as non accompanying dependents. They will still have to complete the forms and have the medical, but won't be issued a visa. If he is successful he can sponsor them in the future because they have been "examined" He will not get any adaptability points for his wife though.
