i agree and i ordered VOS. However i am a bit concerned for the interview but if they don't require it in the application why would they ask for it in the interview.
I don't know however, why don't you simply apply for VOS and take the receipt during the interview to be on the safe side and show it when asked. If you get VOS before interview, take it during the during and show when asked.

This way you will have at least peace of mind.

Yes i did order it and i will take the receipt, but i looked up in the delays and it says it takes up to 6 month ... so no way i will receive it before the interview

When sending an application there is "If sent by private courier:" does this mean if i want to send it with Xpresspost i have to use the private courier adress ?

I think Xpresspost has tracking#. So any postal service that has tracking# or is registered mail with tracking# should be sent to address where it states "If sent by private courier"

If you are using regular mail which has postal stamp without any tracking# then it should be sent to the regular address which is i think a PO BOX to receive mails.

Hi All, I have a COPR document but not sure if it is the original or a copy. Does the original have original writings in it like signatures? The document I have is a large piece of paper but does not have original writings.

The original CoPR that was signed by the immigration officer when you landed is with the government.
I showed them a copy during the interview, no problems whatsoever.

I see. The one I have says "CLIENT COPY" at the bottom. When they ask for original COPR what does that mean? How can they tell the difference between an original and a copy?

I'm aware that kids are not required and should not attend, but for those who have family apps, did they ask for the kids CoPR during the interview?

I have no idea..I just brought a copy, with the signature of the immigration officer on it. At the interview the lady had the original with the passport picture and all the original signatures in front of her. She only checked the passports and the PR card, we had a polite chat about the weather and after 5 minutes it was all done and I took my copy back home.

They will ask for it. This is directly from their employee manual:

What each applicant must bring to the citizenship interview, hearing, or knowledge test
Each applicant must bring the following:

  • their Record of Landing [IMM 1000] or Confirmation of Permanent Residence [IMM 5292 or IMM 5509], and permanent resident card (PRC), where applicable;
  • one other identity document that includes a photograph (and preferably a signature);
  • all passports and travel documents in the applicant’s possession; and
  • the original of all supporting documents (birth certificate, legal change of name document, etc.) sent with the application.
Verify documents
Citizenship officials must examine the original documents of grant applicants at a knowledge test, interview, or hearing. When checking passports, examine all stamps against the declaration on the application.

Accept only certified copies or originals
As most applicants for a citizenship certificate (proof) will not be seen by citizenship officials, only certified copies or originals of documents can be accepted in support of proof applications unless the applicant is applying for a replacement of a certificate.

You can read more about it here:

They usually do ask for it at the interview. If you have lost your copy and are unable to produce the original copy at the interview, they may give you a hard time about it - but it is not a deal breaker. I know one friend who had a rock solid application with the only issue being she lost her copy of CoPR. They lectured her about it being an important document and that she should apply to get another official copy of it from IRCC since she will need it for old age security pension. But otherwise she got her oath ceremony invite about 2 months later.
