Dear All,

Kindly share your experience and suggestions in this regard.

As a new immigrant it would take around 45 days to receive the PR Card after landing.
Question 1: What document can I use to travel DOMESTICALLY in Canada before I have received my PR Card?
Question 2: Do they check any document at the airport for DOMESTIC flights?

I will be having the following in my hand as a new immigrant:
- My native country's passport with Canadian immigrant visa stamped.
- Confirmation of PR/ Record of Landing.

Thank you for your time guys.

What you need at all times is a photo ID, your passport is enough.

so you mean to say that a Photo-ID (like my passport or driving license) issued by a NON-CANADIAN government shall also work... ?

Yes.

Anecdotally, my daughter has flown on domestic flights with a student (photo) card & birth certificate.

You just need your landing papers, passport, and maybe SIN paper as back up documents.

The standard is pretty simple:

At the boarding gate, a passenger must present:
Two (2) pieces of government issued non-photo identification with matching names as long as at least one piece also includes the date of birth and gender; or
One (1) piece of government issued identification with photo showing the name, date of birth and gender.
Your passport qualifies for part two.

You don't need a SIN paper, as one does not need a SIN to fly.

Foreigners travel in Canada all the time - all they need is their passport. They won't have any other ID.
