Hello Sir/Madam,

I hope this email finds you well.

I am currently doing a 1-year co-op placement, for which I have also received my Co-op work permit. On my work permit, under conditions, it states "Unless Authorized, Prohibited from attending any educational institution, or taking any academic, professional, or Vocational training course".

During my co-op placement, I am eager to do a professional IT certification from a Certification provider called CompTIA to improve my skills, which is completely external to my program at York or my Co-op placement.

The procedure to attain this certification is you go to the website, you pay for the exam voucher and you write an exam. There are methods you can train for this certification, however those are online.

I was wondering if pursuing this certification goes against the restrictions stated on my co-op work permit?

Looking forward to hearing from you

It says attending course. Just self study the material on Youtube(professor messor) and write the exams...this way you aren't attending any courses.
