Doing a soft landing without depandants?

My wife is pregnant and receiving our COPR would coincide with an awkward time (last few weeks of pregnancy and first weeks after birth is given) and it'll be impossible to travel as a family during this period.
I was wondering if it was possible to do a soft landing alone as the main applicant and on behalf of my family members (dependants), fly back home then return together once we're ready and have our PR cards in hand.
Another related question concerns the newcomer to our family (not included in the list of dependants yet). What would be the status of the baby born outside of canada in these cases:
- Pre- COPR
- COPR received but didn't enter Canada
- Post soft-landing (PR received, except for the baby)

I know the questions are too specific but I was hoping somone who have had a similar situation could help enlighten me.

This is not possible.

You can't land on behalf of your family members. You can certainly land alone. If you do that, you will become a PR but your family members will not. Your family members must travel to Canada and complete landing formalities before their COPRs expires in order to become PRs.

You can do it 2 ways:
1) You landed as PR with the COPR (provided that you are the principle applicant and do the landing before baby is born). Then you become PR.
And when after your wife gave birth, you will need to apply for sponsorhip for your wife and the new baby. You need to live in Canada while waiting for the sponsorship to be approved.

2) If your COPR will not expire when the baby is born, you DO NOT land and notify IRCC to add your new baby (after the baby is born) and then fill in all the require forms to change and add baby as an additional dependent.
Wait for medical, background check (very little background for a new born) and then once the whole process is done, you will get COPR/PPR for all of you. You will travel and land at the same time.

And if she does that, you will still need to sponsor the baby after.

If primary applicant lands alone and spouse COPR is expired, the only way for spouse to come to Canada is TRV and re apply for PR through sponsor?
