I read this somewhere I think, but I wanted to confirm. Does working for Canadian company in the US count as time spent in Canada ? I ask because my permanent residency requires me to spend like 3 in every 5 years in Canada, and I was wondering if working for a Canadian company in the US will help towards that.

Only if you were hired for a role in Canada first, and then transferred to the US location on a temporary basis only.

If you were hired directly to the US location, then the time spent in US will most likely NOT count towards residency obligation.

No - it won't count in your case since you are already working in the US. As explained above, you would need to be hired into a role in Canada first and then transferred to the US at a later date.
