Does work experience outside Canada while employed for a Canadian company counts towards your canadian work experience

Hi,
I have recently gotten an ITA and I am thinking of not applying because of the following reason.
I have started working full-time under PGWP from May 17, 2021. I was awarded an ITA on the most recent draw on April 12th, 2023.
I was thinking of applying after May 17th of next month to complete my 2 years of work experience but then I got to know since I was working from outside Canada for around 90 days those 3 months wont count towards my work experience. Can someone confirm with some references? On the IRCC site for CEC requirements it says vaguely that you have to work in Canada.
I did pay all my taxes and everything which I can provide. Should I decline the ITA? Please advise. Thanks!

  • have gained your work experience by working in Canada while under temporary resident status with authorization to work
