Does validity of passport matter when landing?

Hi all,

I believe this might have been discussed already, but i couldnt find the clear answer.
As I see the end in this long journey, i have some questions about passport requirements when landing.

1. Does the officer ask you to renew your passport if your passport is expiring soon? I dont care if the COPR will only be valid until my passport expires since im gonna land right after i get it. I dont want to take extra time to apply for a new passport and get it delivered to me.

2. If your passport is expiring soon, lets say its expiring in 1 month. Does it matter when you land in canada or at the airport in your country of origin?

If you have experiences with this, please share.
Thank you

Anything more than 1 month is fine and accepted, the key is VISA expiry, when you land, your VISA should be valid atleast for 30 days else you will be sent back.

If your passport will expire within 1 month, you might be sent back.

I have seen it somewhere and also have experience in it. One of my colleague had to go through this pain as he has to travel out of Canada and return back when there is less than 1 month of VISA.
