They are different plugs and voltage. You might be able to use an adapter without a convertor. Depends on each item. Laptops tend to work in different voltages but you will still need an adapter. Please check:
I too have got all UK plugs only for mobiles and laptop. They won't fit into the socket we can get converters from the market. I bought one converter for $4.00 which is good for only one plug, so if you have 3 plugs u need to buy 3 converters. if can get it from U.K its self it better i think. As we will be having so many things to sort out in canada in first few days.

The North American adapter will work fine with most small electrical devices (mobile phone chargers, laptop chargers etc). We had our mobiles and the power supply for the small laptop working fine the last few times we went there.
I have planning on taking my Yamaha electric piano with me, so I think I may need something a bit cleverer than a simple adapter on the end of the plug!
UK voltage is 240v, and US/Canada is 110v I think.
We bought some from Walmart for $8.99, they have worked really well for our laptops, my hair straighteners, camcorder charger etc. We didn't bother bringing them from the UK because it wasn't worth spending the money...and every inch of our suitcases were full already!!
