Hi Bryanna,
As per the last email excerpt I had posted here it says 16 weeks to refund if at all the officer approves it. Does this take 16 weeks for the process of withdrawal as well? How does the withdrawal system work as I intend to apply through paper this time immediately and do not want to screw my application if the withdrawal procedure is already in process. Kindly let me know.

Status in TL still says Application as "Open"

Hi Siva,

Withdrawing an application will not take 16 weeks. You must check for updates in your MyCIC account i.e. the application status will change.

Again, it is up to the visa office/visa officer to decide whether or not to allow you to withdraw your application. Do not apply again until you get a confirmation that your application is closed/withdrawn

Hi Bryanna,
Hope you are doing good. After three months of wait I finally got my Petition approved. I have been asked to submit my passport to vfs. The catch here is I got a call from Delhi immigration itself that they have approved my case despite I requesting for withdrawal owing to human error as we had discussed earlier and that it's my prejudice now to make or let go of it. The doubt I have is I havent got email confirming it nor does my status online reflect this change. But the lady who spoke to me from Delhi office quoted my application number and said that I can submit it at vfs. I verified and confirmed that it's of course the immigration office that I got call from. In this case with which proof do I approach vfs office to proceed further. Tricky this is.

Personally, I was contacted by phone twice by a visa office/consulate.... Canada (for my PR) and another country (for submitting my passport for visa stamping as the deadline was approaching). In both cases, I had already received the paperwork. So these were genuine phone calls.

One normally does not get contacted over the phone by visa offices. This sounds unusual. Anyway. Unless you get a written passport request, VFS wll not accept your passport.

I suggest you email the Bangalore consulate. Mention that you have not received a written passport request. And then take it from there

Hi Bryanna,
Thanks a lot. I had indeed called them up again (to the Delhi CIC Office) and requested how do I submit my passport without any valid approval letter. They had asked me to send an email quoting the urgency of the letter. In parallel, I also visited the vfs office and briefed them about my issue along with the email communication as a proof. I told them that I can even show the call logs that I got a call from them. Unfortunately, you cannot switch on mobile inside the vfs office ...

They understood my situation and asked me to submit the passport with the email communication. I did so and the visa is under process. Hopefully, it gets approved. I shall keep you posted on that.

Application status is closed now and final decision says it is approved. Also vfs tracking says my passport is despatched from consulate . Does this mean visa is approved ?
