Does the Education need to be related to work experience?

Hi friends, I would really appreciate if you guys help me to get answered to some of my questions over this FSW application.
1. Does the Education need to be related to work experience? I have five years of work experience as cook but my educational qualification is Masters in Marketing.
2. Do I still need to get credintial assessment for the qualification as it is not relavant to my work experience.
3. If i only claim points for my masters, should i only send this degree for assessment ?

Dear Sazi,
Both don't have to be interrelated. Yes you will have to get your masters assessed in order to claim points against education. For work experience. as far as experience goes, first this occupation should exist in the latest NOC, second you will have to provide ample proof of your experience, a reference letter or experience letter prepared as per CIC instructions.hope it helps

Thank you for your quick and detailed reply to my enquiry. This waiting for the CSA and NOC just making the proccess even harder. In a situation like this I dont think anyone would be able to apply in May.

Sazi my understanding is that NOC list would be more or less same, only the total number of apps they entertain each year may further reduce. So the key is if your profession was listed in the last list, what you can do is to start gathering the docs which in any case you shall be requiring. Go for ielts now itself, get your degrees attested and sealed by your uni, you can also keep your experience certs and contract copies ready, get your PCC now, likewise bith certs and marriage certs to be kept ready, and that's all. With all at hand by mid April, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to lodge it in the first week of may or max second week. Hope you got my point.

You are right, I have started doing excectly what you explained in here. Thanks mate for the suggestion. I hope the CAS wont take months for the assessment to be done.

I suspect the degrees will have to be sent from the university directly to the evaluating agency.

yes, i presume that it is the new rule has been added into the FSW starting in May, well the latest and highest degree i have is Masters and it is possbile to request the uni to send it onbehalf. Waiting for the ECA to be announced to can find out how they would like to recieve the certificate to do assessment.

Hi Guys ,,,
Every time you speak about the ECA I get more confused.
I have been told by the cicic.ca for credential that the degree doesn't have to be sent by the university for recognition.however all copies need to be certified and true ...you need at least 25 days to get this done ,which make it imposssible to apply in May ,,this is a new rule to give more advantage to the CEC class.
