Hi guys!
My WES evaluation is (unexpetedly) ready and should be in my hands 21st on Sunday, I am in a rush to prepare all documents and forms for shipping.
Some things are going to be translated and signed by Notary, and I aim to have a ready package to ship by the 24th, or 25th at the LATEST.

  • Is 5 days enough time for FEDEX to deliver documents to the CIO office?
  • Does the CIO office accept documents at that period? with the New Year holidays and vacations?
[ii]My mom is flying to Toronto on the 23rd, if my documents are ready - am I better off having her ship it from Toronto? or ship it myself?[/ii]
[/list]

This is my best chance! better than waiting for the EE program! please advice on this logistics issue.

Bumping.. guys please give me your opinions!

I don't know about Fedex but I know that UPS express can deliver it by 30th if you ship it Monday 22nd Dec.

Its unlikely translations will be ready in 22nd, more likely is 24th...
I read that it takes on average 3-5 days to deliver.... but question is does anyone work there to accept the envelopes?

  • Thanks, today they began translating my things - and I now know that tomorrow it wont be ready for her flight :(

So UPS, FEDEX wont be able to deliver in time (unless I pay them Critical which costs around 900$) - Might as well fly myself.

My only problem is, that I cant find anywhere that states the opening hours of the Sydney, NS CIO office - when can I enter the front door, and deliver it myself?
I can see the wide big door on Google Street View, but nowhere can I find information about their opening hours...

You will have a problem as it isn't open to the public.

You are making it too close!

If all your package is ready then send it and take the chance. You have nothing to loose except few $$$ on courier. However if your package reach on time and gets accepted then you have a lots to gain :) So it's worth giving a try.

As PMM explained, you can certainly fly to Canada and mail / courier your application from within Canada. However you cannot drop your application off in person.

It is kinda close but what do you have to lose right?

about 1050$ US for the flight ticket +work days :)

But chances for 2172 look promising, the bet is good.
I am flying on the 25th, sending UPS from toronto ensures me the package would arrive on the 30th, leaving me with a 1 day reserve in case of delays.

Lets hope no snow storms or anything that might close airports!!

EDIT: And thanks everyone here who shared tips, it helped choose the best way to go.
