Does status change on ECAS or CIC application once completeness check is done?

Can someone advise what ECAS is and why mine and my buddies application is taking so long? We got pulled from the pool on Feb 11th 2015, all our documents, medical, payment the lot was sent to CIC April 2nd, my application status has changed from 'invitation received' to open and the review of eligibility has stayed on 'review in progress' that's it. We both scored nearly 900 points but as you can see by the dates, it seems to be taking a long time.

MyCIC is the authoritative place to know the status of your Express Entry Permanent Residence application online. It is more comprehensive.
ECAS is another place to view the status of your PR application which was used for pre-2015 PR applicants to check PR application status. This is the original mother of all status checking only for PR/Immigration and its likes. It is available also for the recently submitted new EE candidates. Its enabled for candidates NOT on the same day you submit the PR application thru MyCIC. It takes several days or even weeks. So don't be surprised if it says no info available.

You use your file number that was assigned to you during the EE process. It starts with E000*** for me. Not sure about you.

After you login with your credentials, you can see some simple statements when you click on your status displayed as a link. These indicate the statuses of your PR application very different from the crisp stages and statuses you see in MyCIC

Caution: This can only add to your anxiety. People in the forum have lost sleep comparing this status with the MyCIC statuses, trying to decipher a pattern and becoming more tense. There is an observed pattern so far and its too much to discuss about it now and so im not going to do that.

For your specific case, real tension begins after your MyCIC shows these two statuses. Medicals => Passed and Background Check => In Progress. This means anytime you may receive a passport request email. (That is assuming they don't ask for additional documents). When you see this status, what shows in ECAS is what this thread is related to and is another frenzied discussion. Since you haven't mentioned anything about medicals and background check im going to assume they are still on the initial statuses. Stick to MyCIC statuses for accuracy. They say MyCIC statuses are not promptly updated and ECAS is just its evil twin brother and will not show anything extra that you did not get from MyCIC.

There you go.. now you know something. I can be corrected on any of the statements above. My apologies if I have said anything inaccurate.

As far as I know,
When you received additional documents request while your ecas status is "In Process" that means CIC is requesting those documents as they are found missing when they are checking for completeness of your application.
When you received additional documents request while your ecas status is "Application Received" that means CIO (Usually CIO Sydney) is requesting those documents as they realized they need additional documents to process your application.
After all the verifications on submitted documents are done, CIO will send your file to your VO (CIC Ottawa etc) for final decision. And at this time your ecas status will change to "In Process" again.

I deliberately inserted a space between "https:" and "//" because earlier I was prevented from posting full website links. Looks like I can now

For many whose Medicals has passed and background check changed to In Progress (in mycic), within few days, ECAS status has changed from In Process to Application Received and a third line gets updated in ECAS about medicals received.

This happened with me. How many more days for PPR?

Anytime!!
(assuming no additional docs will ever be requested for you, in which case PPR request will be sent after they receive the docs from you)

Some say such PPR emails usually come on fridays or tuesdays

I submitted it on May 1st, no I haven't passed my medical yet, they don't seem to have received it yet

Maybe they are analyzing your medical results. It shouldn't be too long before your status gets updated. My medicals were sent three weeks before submission and so I think the results were already analyzed before submission. I expect your status to get updated soon.

Hi, im still confused, some people are saying that their medicals were sent before their application was sent? CIC asks for the medical records when they require them surely? As for my status, I checked again yesterday (Friday 15th May) and yet again, nothing has changed and CIC had my application sent in on April 2nd 2015 and I received my AOR on April 10th? How come this is taking weeks and weeks and nothing on my status has changed??
