Hi,

Sorry about this seemingly stupid question. I'm sponsoring my husband and child. In my application guide, we are asked to provide Proof of a medical examination. "Include for yourself and each of your family members, proof of the completion of the upfront medical examination from the panel physician".

Question:

I am obviously a member of his family (but also the sponsor). Do I need to get a medical done? I'm thinking no, but want to make sure. Also, my child is only 10 months old. Do we need to get a medical for her?

Thanks

Nope for you. As far as the child, I'm unsure. I'd assume yes, but I'll let someone who'se had experience with that chime in.

1. The sponsor doesn't require a medical.
2. Assuming you weren't a Canadian citizen at the time of the child's birth, then the child requires a medical as well.

From your previous posts, I see you are a Canadian citizen not living in Canada. So whether or not your child needs to be included in your application as a dependent and get a medical done, depends on if you can pass citizenship to them or not (this depends on how you got your citizenship).

If child is already Canadian, then you do not need to get them medical. You do need to get their Canadian citizenship paperwork through.

If you can't pass on your citizenship so child is not Canadian, then needs to be included as dependent, and get a medical exam done.
