We mailed in our application in May 2019. Our more detailed timeline is in my signature if you're curious. We're a complicated case though, so our timeline varies from most other applicant's timelines. When I last checked the May 2019 spreadsheet, 1/3 of applicants already had decision made on their case. Simple cases have it much better for sure.
Hmm, that is a peculiar situation you are in. I haven't come across anyone with a similar issue yet...
I presume the two of you are common law? I guess they assume that since you used the same address as your partner so long ago, they figured you were already living together at that point. That's often what people use to provide as proof of cohabitation for common law, so I can see where the mistake was made...
To be honest, aside from sending in a written statement to the CRA explaining the situation, I don't think there's anything else you can do about this. Not sure how/if you should mention anything about it to CIC though; this is a bit of an unusual situation, and you might want to start a new thread on that topic to see if any more experienced forum members have advice for you.
Aww you're very sweet. That's what we're hoping and praying for every day ;w; It's hard because two of my husband's charges are domestic assault (his ex-wife was vengeful and called the police on him for putting his hand on her upper arm and for hugging her from behind...), so even though they are from 15+ years ago, a moody immigration officer could theoretically still choose to refuse our application
