Perfect thanks. What about birth certificate original or photocopy?
The birth certificate is under this section:
"SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS FOR SPONSORED PERSONS (PRINCIPAL APPLICANT AND ALL FAMILY MEMBERS)
1. IDENTITY DOCUMENTS, TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND PASSPORTS
You (the principal applicant) must provide the following (photocopies only) for yourself and your family members"

We sent in a copy of my husband's birth certificate.

Thanks I hope so too, I’m just a bit paranoid with things like these‍♀
I totally get it; it's better to be more paranoid and make sure it's done right the first time than have several months delay because your application is incomplete and mailed back to you!

Also did your husband get his PR? If yes kindly share some dos and don’ts tips. Thanks bunch
No sadly, my husband doesn't have his PR yet. We are still waiting on decision :( All the tips/advice I post are things that I either was told by my immigration lawyer, read on the government sites/documents, and/or picked up from browsing this forum. Figuring out this whole immigration process is quite the learning curve, but there is lots of support here!

Absolutely true. When did you send your application? Also my partner and I were friends before we started dating, however CRA updated my marital status date to sept 2, 2005 I didn’t even know my partner by then lol. I tried writing them to have them change it but because I used his address as my mailing address when we were friends I think they think we’ve been together for long. Now I’m hoping they update it with the correct date. And I’m also hoping that won’t affect my application. It’s actually more stressful dealing with CRA than Immigration Canada sometimes.
P.S I’m sure your husband will get it :)

We mailed in our application in May 2019. Our more detailed timeline is in my signature if you're curious. We're a complicated case though, so our timeline varies from most other applicant's timelines. When I last checked the May 2019 spreadsheet, 1/3 of applicants already had decision made on their case. Simple cases have it much better for sure.

Hmm, that is a peculiar situation you are in. I haven't come across anyone with a similar issue yet...
I presume the two of you are common law? I guess they assume that since you used the same address as your partner so long ago, they figured you were already living together at that point. That's often what people use to provide as proof of cohabitation for common law, so I can see where the mistake was made...
To be honest, aside from sending in a written statement to the CRA explaining the situation, I don't think there's anything else you can do about this. Not sure how/if you should mention anything about it to CIC though; this is a bit of an unusual situation, and you might want to start a new thread on that topic to see if any more experienced forum members have advice for you.

Aww you're very sweet. That's what we're hoping and praying for every day ;w; It's hard because two of my husband's charges are domestic assault (his ex-wife was vengeful and called the police on him for putting his hand on her upper arm and for hugging her from behind...), so even though they are from 15+ years ago, a moody immigration officer could theoretically still choose to refuse our application :(

Yeah some people do have some sort of issues like mine for example I didn't think this would be an issue back then anyway don't worry I hope you won't get a moody officer and hopefully they go by sufficient evidence of which I'm sure you had more than enough so don't be sad it'll work out well. :)

Yes, hopefully some other forum members in a similar situation will help you out!
You're very sweet thank you! :)
