Hi to all of you. I found this website recently and it has been very useful. Meaning, answering lots of questions already. I didn't find an answer to my following question though:

I’m a german citizen, and planning to immigrate to Canada. We have 2 kids. One of them is already Canadian, the other one's application is still pending.

What if I would send my application now, and my wife would get pregnant and still get the baby in Germany? The baby would obviously not be listed on my application. Would I have to redo the whole application?

The baby is getting the Canadian citizenship anyways, through my wife.

Thanks for your help.

Hi

No, the child would not affect the app. You would just need to send the birth certificate to CIC.

Thanks for the quick answer.

Congratulation for expecting a baby soon. And in some cultures it might be offending if we speak about pre and port pregnancy issues, so I apologize in advance if I have offended you in any respect.

If one is Pregnant at the time of applying I think we do not have to inform CIC (this is related to Sponsor and person being Sponsored as well), reason behind it is “pregnancy or Conformed pregnancy doesn’t mean Live birth Yet”.

Normally this Sponsorship takes few weeks to 9 years in some cases, so you can hold planning your family. Therefore CIC request you to inform them in change in family size, I think it is listed in the application kit.
And for sure it would delay the application process, to be blunt Government of Canada like to know in what quality of health people are coming to Canada, and what would be the size of the family and how is it going to impact its health care and social welfare
At the same time you should not delay in planning your family size expecting to get your sponsorship approved in few months or years

In my case we have good financial background and small family size and waiting for sponsorship approval to sponsor my parents for past five years

Thanks for your help.

The possible child would be Canadian, so there would be NO DELAY in the application. CIC will not care about the health of the child, the size of the family or anything like that. Besides, even if the child was not Canadian and needed to be added to the app, spouse and dependent child applicants are Excessive Demand Exempt.

I suggest you do more research before you post.

Parents sponsorship cases are completely different from spousal ones. Experiences in your situation do not really apply at all to the OP here.

you almost got me completely confused... ;)
